The short version: Fontsight is free to use, it comes as it is, and the fonts it names belong to the people who made them.

Using Fontsight

Fontsight is a free browser extension made by A90. You can install it and use it on any page you’re allowed to view, for personal or commercial work. Please don’t use it to break the law or anyone’s rights.

Fonts and brands

Fontsight tells you which typeface a page uses and who made it. It doesn’t give you a licence to use that typeface. Check the licence with the foundry or the font’s distributor before you use it. Typeface names, foundry names, brand names and logos belong to their owners. They appear in Fontsight and on this site only to identify them.

The directory

The directory of type houses, families and in-house fonts is collected from public sources and may be incomplete or out of date. If something is wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it.

No warranty

Fontsight and this website are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make Fontsight accurate, but we can’t promise it will always identify every font correctly or always be available.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Spoken Systems LLC isn’t liable for any loss that comes from using or being unable to use Fontsight or this website.

Privacy

How Fontsight handles data is described in the privacy policy. In short, it doesn’t collect any.

Changes

We may update these terms as Fontsight changes. The current version always lives at fontsight.xyz/terms.
